Baseball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends South's Winning Streak

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times South and Hutchinson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cougars fell 6-3 to the Salthawks on Friday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Salthawks earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Stauffer, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

South moved to 12-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Hutchinson, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South will challenge Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hutchinson, they will head out to challenge Salina Central on Tuesday.
