Horizon had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They blew past the Skyview Wolverines 40-6. Considering the Hawks have won four games by more than 24 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The critical scores for Horizon came from Madison Velotta, Lyla Waufle, Nevaeh Stukas, Genia Harris, and Sofia Di Annie.

Horizon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Velotta led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Horizon's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Skyview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Horizon will challenge rival Legacy at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hawks 12.4, the Lightning 8.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Skyview is set to face off against their familiar foe Aurora Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
