Baseball Game Preview: Timpson Bears vs. Joaquin Rams

Timpson is 1-7 against Joaquin since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Timpson Bears will be playing at home against the Joaquin Rams at 6:05 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Timpson 1.9, Joaquin 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Timpson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand San Augustine a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Bears have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Joaquin wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered against the Bobcats since April 7, 2017.

Brennan Kilpatrick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Joaquin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Duncan McCann, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that McCann hit this season.

The win made it two in a row for Timpson and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Joaquin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
