Softball Recap: Castle Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Castle rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Evansville Reitz Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Sadie Winsett made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Winsett was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Bruggenschmidt, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mati Hughes also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Castle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Castle's record is now 14-12. As for Evansville Reitz, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

As of now, neither Castle nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
