Football Game Preview: Bigelow Panthers vs. Mountain Pine Red Devils

The Bigelow Panthers will take on the Mountain Pine Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bigelow has given up an average of 39.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bigelow duked it out with Hector on Friday. The Panthers were dealt a 57-28 loss at the hands of the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Pine). They put the hurt on Westside with a sharp 36-13 win on Friday. The Red Devils not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 42-0).

Mountain Pine's win came from a few key players Bigelow will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zachary Middleton, who rushed for 157 yards and one score while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 96 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 157 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Caleb Beach was another key player, gaining 136 total yards.

Bigelow dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mountain Pine, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Bigelow strolled past Mountain Pine when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 19-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
