Basketball Recap: Crawford's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

If Crawford was feeling good fresh off their 64-19 takedown of Logan Memorial Education Campus last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The contest between the Crawford Colts and the Pacific Ridge Firebirds didn't end well, with the Crawford Colts falling 56-39. The Colts' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Crawford still got an impressive performance from Mickelson Laguerre, who went 8 for 18 en route to 17 points along with seven steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave Laguerre a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasir Abdurahman, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

Crawford's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Pacific Ridge, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Crawford won't have much time to rest: their next game is against High Tech SD at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crawford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season. As for Pacific Ridge, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Chula Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Chula Vista will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Pacific Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
