Soccer Game Preview: Salado vs. Davenport

The Salado Eagles will square off against the Davenport Wolves on Thursday. Salado will be looking to extend their current 22-game winning streak.

Salado is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Lumberton 2-1.

Meanwhile, Davenport kept a clean sheet against La Vernia on Tuesday. They blew past the Bears 4-0. The result was nothing new for Davenport, who have now won 19 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Davenport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 74 goals over those 12 contests. As for Salado, their win bumped their record up to 27-3.

Salado skirted past Davenport 3-2 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
