The Palo Verde Panthers will head out to face off against the Arbor View Aggies at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Palo Verde will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Palo Verde is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Southeast Career Tech, who was ranked 25th at the time (Palo Verde was ranked first). The Panthers were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Roadrunners on Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Haley Kearnes made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Johns, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Halle Law, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Palo Verde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Arbor View lost 18-7 to Coronado on Thursday.
Malaya Tellis was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Breya Hee, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Palo Verde's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Arbor View, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Palo Verde hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .452. However, it's not like Arbor View struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palo Verde took their win against Arbor View when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
