The Green Canyon Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Tooele Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Canyon will be strutting in after a win while Tooele will be coming in after a defeat.
Green Canyon's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bear River 35-0. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wolves had established a 21-point advantage.

Micah Jenkins went supernova, rushing for 211 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.
Green Canyon didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Bear River to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Isaac Mullahkhel and Jaxon Calderwood, who each logged one passes deflected. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Green Canyon; they were averaging 57.3%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 57.3%.
Green Canyon's defense didn't let Jaxson Theurer, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Ross Johnnie was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.
Meanwhile, Tooele was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 55-33 to Stansbury.
Green Canyon will have to contain Mavrik Chlarson as he made an impact in Tooele's last game. He picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one rushing score. Kami Vaenuku handled things on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Green Canyon's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games. As for Tooele, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Green Canyon against Tooele in their previous meeting back in August of 2020, as the team secured a 42-13 victory. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Buffaloes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
