Baseball Game Preview: Sale Creek Panthers vs. Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles

The Sale Creek Panthers will take on the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Sale Creek sitting on three straight victories and Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts on nine.

On Friday, Sale Creek made easy work of Midway and carried off an 8-2 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts beat South Pittsburg 8-3 on Friday.

Holden Reynolds made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Jackson Owens was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Parker Ballard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts' victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Sale Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Sale Creek beat Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts 6-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
