Baseball Recap: Guymon Wins Going Away Against Del City

Guymon came out on top against Del City on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Tigers blew past the Eagles 10-0. Considering the Tigers have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Angelo Carrasco was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Guymon is 3-1 when Carrasco posts three or more RBI, but 6-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drazen Romero, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Villarreal, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Guymon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del City only posted an OBP of .250.

Guymon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-15. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Del City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-24.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Guymon beat the Eagles by a score of 28-2 later that day.
