Baseball Game Preview: Dover-Sherborn Raiders vs. Millis Mohawks

The Dover-Sherborn Raiders will challenge the Millis Mohawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dover-Sherborn is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Dedham on Sunday as they made off with a 16-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Thomas Wyatt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Will Forman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Dover-Sherborn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Millis ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Norton. The win was some much needed relief for the Mohawks as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Aidan Sugrue was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Shepardson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Millis' victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Dover-Sherborn, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
