Palmer Ridge extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping them up to 15-3. They were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Discovery Canyon Thunder. Considering the Bears have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Pam Boyarko was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Boyarko was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Kayleigh Garcia and Savanah Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs, while Martinez got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most stolen bases Garcia has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cambria Gibbs, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Palmer Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in five consecutive games.
As for Discovery Canyon, their record now sits at 6-10. They haven't had much luck with Palmer Ridge recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
On Discovery Canyon's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Holcomb, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Taylor McCann was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Palmer Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-3 win against ThunderRidge on the 26th. As for Discovery Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-2 defeat against Air Academy on the 29th.
