Basketball Recap: Wenonah Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Wenonah extended their road winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Samarian Franklin. The Wenonah Dragons took down the Sipsey Valley Bears 71-54 on Thursday thanks in part to Franklin, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and ten assists. The contest was her 12th in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Aariyanah Parker, who posted seven points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times she's played.

Wenonah is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Sipsey Valley, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Wenonah and Sipsey Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Wenonah (ranked 30th) will meet Northside (ranked 131st) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wenonah is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Sipsey Valley (ranked 123rd) will meet American Christian Academy (ranked 337th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
