Washington Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Calais on Wednesday. The Raiders were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Blue Devils. Considering the Raiders have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Parker Cates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Washington Academy got a massive performance out of Jayden Mahar, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that Mahar has launched this season. Colby Moholland was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Washington Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calais only posted a batting average of .167.

Washington Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Calais, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
