Volleyball Recap: Southeast Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a classic North v. South duel when Southeast faced off against North on Tuesday. The Golden Buffalo fell 2-0 to the RedHawks. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Buffalo in their meetings with the RedHawks: they've now lost three in a row.

While Southeast ultimately came up short, they really made North work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-21.

Eva Vilanueva paced Southeast's offense, picking up four kills. Vilanueva got some help from Leah Nguyen and her nine assists. Vilanueva also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Savannah Ung, each putting up two.

North was led to victory by Sydney Araiza and Ryann Daggett. Araiza had 12 digs and four assists, while Daggett had 11 kills, five aces, four digs, and one block. That's the most assists Araiza has posted over her last eight matches.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for North, their win bumped their record up to 16-17.

Coincidentally, Southeast and North will both be playing Northwest the next time they take the court. The Golden Buffalo will head out to face the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the RedHawks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
