Baseball Recap: Mt. Mansfield Comes Up Short

Mt. Mansfield fell victim to South Burlington and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 1-0. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in June of 2025.

Mt. Mansfield's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for South Burlington, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Mansfield will take on Essex at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Burlington, they will face off against Rice Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.17 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
