Baseball Recap: Katella Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Katella had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Anaheim on Tuesday. Everything went the Katella Knights' way against the Anaheim Colonists as the Katella Knights made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Alejandro Tinoco was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other pitching news, Anthony Garcia tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, Kevin Reyes Mejia was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Perez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Katella was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anaheim only posted a batting average of .130.

Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Anaheim, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
