Basketball Recap: Sheridan Hills Christian Comes Up Short

Sheridan Hills Christian played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 81-54 defeat at the hands of the Highlands Christian Knights. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Sheridan Hills Christian lost, don't look at Micah Smith. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abraham Seay, who earned eight points.

Angel Scomparin was his usual excellent self, putting up 32 points for Highlands Christian. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Scomparin has scored at least a third of Highlands Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Bridges, who had 11 points.

Sheridan Hills Christian dropped their record down to 6-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Highlands Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Sheridan Hills Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-39 victory against Franklin Academy on the 17th. Highlands Christian has also already played their next matchup, a 101-20 win against Cristo Rey on the 17th.
