Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 8-6 to make it four. They fell 13-10 to the Norwell Knights. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Sydney Martin and Isabella Myers did some serious damage despite the final result: Martin went 1-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Myers went 3-for-5 with five runs, one stolen base, and one double. That home run marked the first that Martin has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Teaghan O'Shaughnessey, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

As for Norwell, their win bumped their record up to 12-4. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

On Norwell's side, Mia Kurtz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Kurtz has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Reese Frauhiger, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Norwell beat Heritage by a score of 19-3 later that day.
