Soccer Recap: Walnut Victorious

Walnut's game on Tuesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged the Claremont Wolfpack out 2-1. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alessandro Diaz and Manny Aguilar scored both of Walnut's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Walnut and bumps their season record up to 8-3-3. As for Claremont, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-1 record this season.

Walnut wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Ayala on the 23rd. Claremont has also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Bonita on the 23rd.
