It was fun while it lasted, but Indian River's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Friday. They took a blow against the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators, falling 56-27. The matchup marked the Braves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading Hampton Roads Academy to victory were Nalani Carter and Kenzie Cooper. Carter dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds, while Cooper shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Cooper is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Zuriel Pendleton-Morant, who posted ten points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Indian River fell to 7-1. As for Hampton Roads Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Indian River will take on Granby in a tournament on January 4, 2025. As for Hampton Roads Academy, they and Maury will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Maury will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Hampton Roads Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
