Baseball Game Preview: Northeastern Bobcats vs. Governor Mifflin Mustangs

The Northeastern Bobcats will challenge the Governor Mifflin Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Northeastern sitting on ten straight wins and Governor Mifflin on six.

It was a proper cat-fight when Northeastern duked it out with Mechanicsburg on Saturday. The Bobcats came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 5-2.

The team relied heavily on Brandon Charleston, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Zack Ball was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Governor Mifflin had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Berks Catholic 11-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Mustangs have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Northeastern's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Governor Mifflin, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.
