Volleyball Game Preview: Raft River Trojans vs. Hagerman Pirates

Raft River hasn't had much luck against Hagerman recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Trojans will face off against the Pirates at 5:30 p.m. Hagerman took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Raft River, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Raft River got the win against Glenns Ferry by a conclusive 3-0.

Meanwhile, Hagerman entered their matchup against Oakley on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pirates fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Hagerman sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 14-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Hagerman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Payge Nyborg had 11 digs.

Hagerman's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 21-4. As for Raft River, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Raft River couldn't quite get it done against Hagerman when the teams last played on October 2nd as they fell 3-1. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
