Soccer Recap: Battle Creek Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Battle Creek walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Community Vikings/Viqueens 3-2. Battle Creek wouldn't have won without William Shetler, who scored the game-winner.

Battle Creek is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those six games. As for Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6-1.

Coming up, Battle Creek will square off against Forrest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Forrest will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Battle Creek surely won't give up without a fight. Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
