Basketball Recap: Manistique Comes Up Short

Manistique was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Gwinn Modeltowners, falling 47-21. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Emeralds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-32 back in December of 2024.

Manistique's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Gwinn, their win ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.

Manistique will square off against Iron Mountain at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Manistique is facing Iron Mountain at the right time seeing as Iron Mountain is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Gwinn, they will host Ishpeming at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Ishpeming will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Gwinn surely won't give up without a fight.
