Recap: Highland Huskies vs. St. John Bosco Academy Patriots

The Highland Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 32-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. John Bosco Academy. Highland has struggled against St. John Bosco Academy recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Highland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kylee Beck, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds and nine blocks, and Shaylee Stamper who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her.

Highland's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for St. John Bosco Academy, the win (which was their third in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 1-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clearwater Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Clearwater Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. St. John Bosco Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Deary at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
