Basketball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-14. They had to suffer through a 97-10 loss at the hands of the East Aces. The matchup marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for East, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miya Respress led the charge by going 5-for-6 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Respress is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last 12 games she's played. Ty'Leeah Lucus was another key player, shooting 70% from the field to rack up 18 points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. West will venture away from home to face off against Southeast on Tuesday. As for East, they will take on Little River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
