Basketball Recap: Madisonville's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Madisonville waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Rusk Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 71-52. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Eagles are ranked 739th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Madisonville's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 20-6. As for Rusk, they dropped their record down to 12-13 with the loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madisonville will square off against Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madisonville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Rusk, they will challenge Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Center's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
