Softball Recap: Macarthur Has No Trouble Against Harlandale

MacArthur was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Harlandale on Friday. MacArthur's pitcher stepped up to hand Harlandale a 15-0 shutout. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Brahmas this season.

The result came thanks to Kaylin Salazar's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Katelin Keller was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Jaden Neira was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

MacArthur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harlandale only posted an OBP of .250.

MacArthur's record is now 8-9-1. As for Harlandale, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, MacArthur and Harlandale will both be playing Winn the next time they take the field. MacArthur will head out to face Winn at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Harlandale will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
