Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Dripping Springs' 13th in Last 15 Outings

Dripping Springs had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Eagle Pass Eagles 11-5 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sadie Bradford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Dripping Springs let Emma Phillips and Tatum Green run wild. Phillips went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Green went 2-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Phillips has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jai-Lynn Flores, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Dripping Springs is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Eagle Pass, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-3.

Dripping Springs will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
