Volleyball Recap: Christian Brothers Academy Comes Up Short

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Christian Brothers Academy challenged Marlboro on Friday. The Colts fell 2-0 to the Mustangs. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Christian Brothers Academy may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 19 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19.

Sean Kennedy paced Christian Brothers Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Kennedy got some help from Jake Tarzian and his 12 assists. Tarzian was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Christian Brothers Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Marlboro, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

Christian Brothers Academy has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Middletown South on the 7th. Marlboro has also already played their next game (against Colts Neck), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
