Softball Recap: Tharptown Has No Trouble Against Red Bay

While Tharptown put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Red Bay. Everything went the Tharptown Wildcats' way against the Red Bay Tigers as the Tharptown Wildcats made off with a 7-0 win. That looming 7-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

The team relied heavily on Allie Gann, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Little, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Tharptown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Tharptown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Red Bay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Tharptown will be playing in front of their home fans against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Danville's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Tharptown's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Red Bay, they will venture away from home to face off against Colbert County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
