Baseball Game Preview: Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs vs. Fairview Yellowjackets

Pioneer-Pleasant Vale is 8-2 against Fairview since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. Pioneer-Pleasant Vale's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Fairview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pioneer-Pleasant Vale's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Dover hitters got past them. The Mustangs fell 10-5 to the Longhorns on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Fairview's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Cashion, falling 12-6.

Boden Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Sutton Hayes was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Fairview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, their loss dropped their record down to 17-2.

Pioneer-Pleasant Vale couldn't quite finish off Fairview in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
