After flying high against Notre Dame Prep on Monday, Masuk came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Oxford Wolverines by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Masuk saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Welch, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Ethan Fonck, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Masuk's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Oxford, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Masuk is taking a road trip to face off against New Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Green Wave's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oxford, they will be playing at home against Ansonia at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
