Baseball Game Preview: West Wolfpack vs. Tracy Bulldogs

For the second straight game, West will face off against Tracy. The Wolfpack will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. West has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West fell victim to Tracy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 13-0. The Wolfpack just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

For Tracy's part, Jacoby Freitas looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Freitas has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Dylan Giannini and Ryan Torres did most of the damage at the plate: Giannini went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Torres went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Giannini a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Saenz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Tracy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Tracy's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18-1.
