Basketball Game Preview: Legend Titans vs. Cherry Creek Bruins

The Legend Titans and the Cherry Creek Bruins will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Legend has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three matches.

On Friday, everything went Legend's way against Windsor as Legend made off with a 70-49 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legend to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Borcherding, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Borcherding's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Maley Wilhelm was another key player, going 8 for 10 on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds.

Legend smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Cherry Creek's game on Friday was all tied up 31-31 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 54-50 win over Roosevelt. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

Cherry Creek's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Legend, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Things could have been worse for Legend, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-52 loss to Cherry Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2014. Can Legend avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
