Baseball Recap: Bellingham Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Bellingham took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Millis, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blackhawks won by a run and slipped past the Mohawks 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blackhawks as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Payton Young spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit. He has become a key player for Bellingham: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 1-15 otherwise.

At the plate, Bellingham saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Sullivan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bellingham's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-15 and their overall record up to 3-16. As for Millis, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Bellingham has already played their next matchup, a 12-11 defeat against Blackstone Valley RVT on the 25th. Millis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
