San Tan Charter has won five straight games at home, while Pima has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Roadrunners will welcome the Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. San Tan Charter's defense has only allowed 11.7 points per game this season, so Pima's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Things were looking good for San Tan Charter after they put the first points on the board two weeks ago, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to St. Johns. The Roadrunners gained 96 more yards on the day, but it was the Redskins that made the best use of them.
San Tan Charter might have lost, but man, Maddox Schulte was a machine: he rushed for 113 yards and one TD on only 14 carries. Henry Tauscher was in the mix as well, providing the Roadrunners with one score.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pima walked away with it. They blew past the Roadrunners 47-6 on Friday. The Roughriders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 28 points or more this season.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Rooster Alder and Joe Palmer. Alder rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns while Palmer rushed for 83 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. Palmer also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Pima is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise.
Pima didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Keegan Corona and Mason Skinner, who each picked up one interception apiece.
San Tan Charter's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2. As for Pima, their record is now 7-4.

It's a different story for Pima, though, as they've been averaging only 185.3 total yards.
