Basketball Game Preview: Ball Tornadoes vs. Friendswood Mustangs

The Ball Tornadoes just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Friendswood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ball knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Friendswood likes a good challenge.

Ball is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering La Porte just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 73-66 to the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 165th).

Meanwhile, Friendswood posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Texas City 59-29. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ball's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Friendswood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Ball lost to Friendswood on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Ball avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
