It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but LaFayette ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gilmer Bobcats, sneaking past 59-56. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 70-59 win two weeks ago.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keegen Bryant, who went 7-for-16 en route to 19 points along with six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jd Taylor, who posted 16 points and five rebounds.

LaFayette's win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Gilmer, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

LaFayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-27 defeat against Calhoun on the 14th. As for Gilmer, they will square off against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on February 19th. Gilmer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Monroe likes a good challenge.
