Basketball Recap: Maquoketa Valley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Midland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Maquoketa Valley). They blew past the Midland Eagles, posting a 79-16 win. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Maquoketa Valley pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. As for Midland, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, Maquoketa Valley will head out to square off against East Buchanan at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Maquoketa Valley is facing East Buchanan at the right time seeing as East Buchanan is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Midland, they will welcome Calamus-Wheatland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Calamus-Wheatland will have lost five straight heading into Tuesday's matchup.
