Basketball Recap: Winthrop Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Winthrop entered their tilt with North Yarmouth Academy on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 46-31. For the Ramblers, this counts as revenge for the 45-42 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Winthrop pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for North Yarmouth Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Boothbay the next time they take the court. Winthrop will host Boothbay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while North Yarmouth Academy will host them at 2:00 p.m. on January 11th.
