Basketball Recap: Sandhills/Thedford Comes Up Short

Sandhills/Thedford lost against Anselmo-Merna back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sandhills/Thedford Knights took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes.

Anselmo-Merna was led to victory by Josiah Griffith and Dane Duryea. Griffith went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points, while Duryea dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which Duryea has scored at least a third of Anselmo-Merna's points. Colin Wright was another key player, putting up four points and three blocks.

Sandhills/Thedford's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Anselmo-Merna, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Sandhills/Thedford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-38 win against Maywood/Hayes Center on the 17th. As for Anselmo-Merna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-38 defeat against Central Valley on the 17th.
