Kenston Forest has gone a perfect 3-0 against Life Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Kavaliers will square off against the Eagles at 3:00 p.m.
Kenston Forest is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Amelia Academy just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 13-4 to the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Kavaliers have suffered since May 9, 2024.
Kenston Forest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tine Sledd, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
Meanwhile, Life Christian Academy entered their tilt with Hargrave Military Academy on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 13-10 victory over the Tigers.
Conner Gaster made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Life Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
In other pitching news, JJ Jimenez looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Brandon Dorin was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Connor Radcliff was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Life Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Kenston Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Kenston Forest was able to grind out a solid win over Life Christian Academy in their previous matchup on April 4th, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kavaliers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
