Basketball Recap: Jameson Habing's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Babcock over Island Coast

Babcock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Island Coast Gators.

Babcock lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jameson Habing, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. The match was Habing's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Romano, who posted nine points and three steals.

Island Coast can attribute much of their success to SirJoshua Anderson, who put up 16 points. Izaiah Bacchus was another key player, putting up nine points.

Babcock's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Island Coast, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Babcock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-38 loss against Imagine School at North Port on the 17th. As for Island Coast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-59 defeat against North Fort Myers on the 17th.
