Cross County had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Wood River on Tuesday. The Cross County Cougars blew past the Wood River Eagles 66-33. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Wood River's loss came despite strong showings from Lainey Paulk and Sidney Frear. Paulk went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points and six boards, while Frear went 7-for-15 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Frear continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Cross County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.9 points. Wood River dropped their record down to 7-18 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Cross County has already played their next game, a 39-26 victory against Sandy Creek on the 20th. Wood River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
