Basketball Recap: Chalmette Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Chalmette had lost four straight headed into Tuesday's matchup, but Macy Robinson didn't let it get to five. The Chalmette Owls took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-28 victory over the West Jefferson Buccaneers thanks in part to Robinson, who posted 16 points in addition to five assists and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

West Jefferson's loss came despite strong showings from KeyShawn Butler and Keyana Butler. KeyShawn had eight points, while Keyana put up 12 points.

Chalmette's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for West Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Chalmette will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for West Jefferson, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-22 loss against Warren Easton on the 18th.
