Soccer Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

On Friday, Hoover faced Hewitt-Trussville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies who were credited with the victory. The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Hoover Buccaneers' two. The Buccaneers just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Their goal came courtesy of Abbie Jin, who's now up to four this season.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hewitt-Trussville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1-1.

Coming up, Hoover will face off against Oak Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Mountain's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Hoover's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they will challenge Vestavia Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
