Volleyball Recap: Benton Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Benton Central entered their tilt with McCutcheon on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bison also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 25-12.

Benton Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Minniear, who had ten digs and three aces. Minniear is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Widmer, who had 18 digs and four assists.

They weren't the only good servers: Benton Central was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCutcheon only served five.

McCutcheon's loss came despite strong showings from Mackenzie Taylor and Rebecca Gaeta. Taylor had 18 digs and two aces, while Gaeta had 16 assists and nine digs.

Benton Central's record is now 16-5. As for McCutcheon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Benton Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Twin Lakes on the 4th. As for McCutcheon, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Angola on the 4th.
